Are You Losing Time (and Money!) on Extra Prepress?

It's no secret that times are tight. Printers today need to preserve every bit of their already thin margins, and tight production schedules. Yet we still see shops sending jobs all the way back to prepress just because the color isn't quite right.

That's where we come in - with PatchFinder, you can 'dial in' critical colors quickly and easily, without losing time and money on extra prepress work.

We've taken the most-used functionality of our ColorPower tools and spun it off into its own plug-in:

Easily find the adjustments you need to get the results you want.

  • PatchFinder patches will show you exactly what each adjustment will do on your press. No more guessing!
  • Adjust Press Ready PDFs in seconds

  • Reduce expensive press down-time and extra prepress work: apply corrections directly in Adobe® Acrobat®. No need to edit the original InDesign® or Photoshop® files and re-create PDFs.
  • The Power of Selective Color

  • When color problems appear in production, they aren't usually isolated to a single color, but rather an entire range of colors. PatchFinder allows you to target the affected range of colors, leaving the rest untouched.
  • Preserve Press Calibration

  • You work hard to calibrate your press. Adjust color without compromising your G7® or other calibration.
  • Frequently Asked Questions

    How much does it cost?

  • $299. That means it pretty much pays for itself on one production job.
  • What about Spot Colors?

  • Our selective color engine operates only on the CMYK values in your files. Any non-CMYK color values are left untouched.
  • Will this work for offset as well?

  • While developed specifically for digital and large format presses, PatchFinder can also be used on any CMYK PDF, regardless of the intended destination. A few of our users have even been using PatchFinder on their proofing devices to help refine their screen mixes for offset.
  • How much can I save?

  • The actual cost of sending a job back to prepress can vary, from $250 - $300 for a digital press, up to 2 or 3 times that for large format, depending on material cost. So we've created this simple ROI Calculator to help you answer that question:
